Ok, so here is what you have been waiting for! The .cut file for the Pop Star Layout that was made for The Chirp! This is a relatively simple layout to create. I have labeled all the .cut file tabs for you to be able to recreate this just like I made it. The only difference is you will not be able to use the American Crafts Glitter Chipboard until it is released in stores!

To create the Pop Star Layout, You will need the Cricut Design Studio, Cricut Expression, Hannah Montana Cricut Cartridge, Plantin Schoolbook Cricut Cartridge, the Regular Blade Housing, the Deep cut Blade Housing,

You will need a 12x12 sheet of Black cardstock for your base.

I used Prism Cardstock because that is what I put my hands on first!

Cut a 12x12 Sheet of the American Crafts Purple Cardstock down to 11.75 x 11.75 and center it on the black.

Cut a 12x12 sheet of American Crafts Purple Foil down to 11.5 x 11.5 and center it on the purple cardstock.

You will then follow the .cut file tabs using the correct cardstock/Chipboard colors to cut the layers out. Once you have the layers cut out, you will follow the picture and assemble the layout!

NOTES!

If you purchase the American Crafts Glitter Chipboard, you must use the Deep Cut Blade to cut it. I tried with the regular blade houseing and all it did was barely score the chipboard! You will also need to set the multi cut up for 2 times when you are cutting the Glitter Chipboard layers.

I recommend cutting all the cardstock layers first and then cutting the Glitter Chipboard layers and be ready to your sacrifice you cutting mat though!

Also if you are using a 12x24 mat be sure to lay an extra 12x12 sheet of cardstock next to the Glitter Chipboard so you don't get Glitter all over your mat!

Recipe Swaps.....Here I come!

Our Local Scrapbooking Store, Simply Scrapbooks is sponsoring a Recipe Swap! Of course I had to join in! We ended up with 2 seperate swap groups. One has 20 people participating and the other has 21 people participating. There was a 6 month commitment to join so we will end up with 120 recipes once all is said and done for the first swap and 141 recipes in the second swap! I am so excited and wanted to share my layouts with you!

The October Recipe Swap was appetizers/Drinks. Here are the recipes that I created for that swap!

Apple Dip Recipe Layout
I used Design Studio, Cuttin' Up, Locker Talk and Doodlecharms to create this layout. The words AppleDip were cut out of Coldpress Watercolor Paper and Painted. I used the Deep Cut Blade to cut the watercolor Paper.

Chicken Dip Recipe
I used Design Studio, Cuttin' Up, Plantin Schoolbook and Animal Kingdom to create this layout.
The November Recipe Swap is Entrees. Here are the recipes that I created for that swap.

I used Design Studio, Plantin Schoolbook, Mickey Font, and Paper Doll Dress Up to create this layout

Green Bean Casserole Recipe
I used Design Studio, Mickey Font, Plantin Schoolbook and My Communtiy to create this layout.

Wonderfully Warm Tea Cup Album

With winter fast approching I though that a hot drink book would be just the thing to warm me up on a chilly fall or winter day! Sometimes I could even use it during the summer as my husband is very hot natured and keeps out air conditioning on 67 degrees F! I tend to freeze! Hope that you enjoy it and the recipes!

What a Solution for my Solutions!

Ever since purchasing my Cricut Solution Cartridges trying to store them has driven me nuts! I don't use any of my boxes so I didn't want to purchase the Solution Boxes. I store all my other cartridges in Purple Cropper Hopper Embellishment Containers and just had the Solutions setting in there in one of the small dividers that come with the container with the key pads laying on top of each other. This was just not working for me! So the other day, I decided that I would just create a .cut file to fix my problem and here is my fix! I used Cricut Design Studio, the Cricut Expression and the following cartridges: Baseball, Campout, Cuttin Up, Daisy Chain, Home Accents, Indie Art, Jasamine, Soccer, Stone Script, Store Front, Street Sign, Wedding, Plantin Schoolbook and Makin' The Grade. Do you ever wish that there was a solution for the jumbled mess that ribbon becomes?

There is ! I have seen a product similar to this but thought to myself......Self, why would you buy those when you can make them with your Cricut? So I decided to give it a whirl and make a rendition of them for to straighted up my mess! I call this one my Guitar Pick Ribbon Hanger. I think that they really turned quite functional! They are just what I was needing! They keep my ribbon hanging neat and organized. You can even write of the tag with a Signo Gel Pen to label your ribbon. The ribbons pictured are Color Me Silly and Oh, Baby! by Basic Grey. I used Cricut Design Studio to create them. The Cartridges I used were Tags, Bags and Boxes and Opposites Attract. They are made Clear Quilters Template Plastic and I had to use my new Deep Cut Blade (Blue) and set the Multi-cut to 4.
