30 Days of Creativity Challenge - Day 15 - Let's Party Halloween Invitation!

Thanks to everyone for keeping my mom in your prayers.  Her Pacemaker surgery went just perfectly.  Praise the Lord!  I arrived back home later yesterday and today I am ready to get back into the 30 Days of Creativity Challenge swing of things.

Let's Party Invitation

How many of you out there have Halloween Parties?  Well, here is the perfect solution for you!  The Let's Party! Halloween Invitation was super easy and fast to create.  I created it using the Cricut Expression, the Mini Monster Cricut Cartridge, the Feelin' Groovy Cricut Cartridge and the Sweethearts Cricut Cartridge.  You can't see the inside because my camera was acting up, but the inside has the For, Date, Time, Place and Rsvp on the inside so you can just fill in your information.

30 Days Of Creativity Challenge - Day 10 - Kitty Litter Cake Recipe Layout!

I was trying to think of some creative and kind of off the wall desserts for this upcoming Halloween Season and nothing could be more off the wall than Kitty Litter Cake!
Warning:  This is not the cake to make for the person with a weak stomache as it look like a well used Kitty Litter Box when completed.  Little boys in particular tend to think it is cool to eat and believe it or not, it actually tastes great is you can get over the look of it!  Just imagine your guests eye popping out of their head as you go to serve it.  A true Halloween Trick!

I used the Cricut Expression, the Mini Monsters Cricut Cartridge, the Cuttin' Up Cricut Cartridge and the Walk In My Garden Cricut Cartridge to create this layout as well as a paper trimmer.  The cardstocks are from Prism, American Craft and KI Memories(Haunted)  I used my favorite glue,Tombow Mono Aqua Liquid Adhesive, to adhere it all together!

Ingredients:

1 spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 white cake mix
2 large packages vanilla instant pudding mix, prepared
1 large package vanilla sandwich cookies
12 small Tootsie Roll candies
Green food coloring
1 new kitty litter pan washed
1 new kitty litter pan line
1 new pooper scooper

Instructions:
1. Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions (any size pans).

2. Prepare pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble.

3. Crumble white sandwich cookies in small batches in food processor, scraping often. Set aside all but about 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops green food coloring and mix until completely colored.

4. When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Toss with half the remaining white cookie crumbs and the

5. chilled pudding. Important: mix in just enough of the pudding to moisten it. You don't want it too soggy. Combine gently.

6. Line a new, WASHED kitty litter box. Put the cake/pudding/cookie mixture into the litter box.

7. Put 3 unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and pliable. Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly. Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls bury them in the mixture. Sprinkle the other half of cookie crumbs over top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly on top of everything -- this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter.

8. Heat 3 Tootsie Rolls in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake; sprinkle with cookie crumbs. Spread remaining Tootsie Rolls over the top. For the final touch, take one Tootsie Roll and heat until pliable, hang it over the side of the kitty litter box, sprinkling it lightly with cookie crumbs. Place the box on a newspaper and sprinkle a few of the cookie crumbs around for a truly disgusting effect!

9. This is clever Halloween cake recipe, that frightfully resembles a well used kitty litter box, is actually delicious, despite its appearance. For the proper presentation, use a brand new (and definitely unused) plastic cat litter box and spoon it onto plates with a new (NEVER used) pooper scooper. Little boys tend to think that this is a pretty cool cake!

30 Days of Creativity Challenge - Day 8 - Trick or Treat Sand Pails with Instructions!

Ok, so I was shopping this morning for Halloween Ribbon at Michaels and as I was leaving I saw these adorable Pails in a bin outside and they were only $1 each!  I promptly picked up 3 of the 4 colors available and went back inside to purchsae them.  I knew exactly what I was going to make.  Trick or Treat sand Pails for my kids!  When I tell you these were super easy I am not kidding!

Here are the materials you will need:

Cricut Expression, Create or V.1 Cricut
Handheld Crop-A-Dile
Sand Pail of your choice
Black Vinyl
Halloween ribbon in a variety of patterns and colors
Scissors

 Directions:
  1. Remove the handle carefully from your sand pail.  Set aside for reattachment once your project is complete.
  2. Using the Crop-a-dile, carefully punch holes in the rim spacing them evenly 3 to 4 holes per inch.  Make sure you use reach far enough into the rim so the holes are sturdy.  Continue punching all the way around.  The more holes you create the fuller the ribbon will look later.
  3. Cut your ribbon into 5 inch section cut at an angle.  This will help you thread the ribbon through the holes easier.
  4. Thread the ribbon through one at a time through your holes making sure to double knot the ribbon as you go.  I found that it was easier to send the ribbon from the underside of the rim to the outside of the rim.
  5. Once you have all the ribbon tied, using a pair of sharp scissors, give your ribbon a "hair cut"  Make sure you are cutting it at a nice angle.
  6. Re-attach the white handle and place handle up in the air and find the front center of your bucket.
  7. Using the Cricut Expression and the Pumpkin Carving Seasonal Cricut Cartridge, choose a Pumpkin Face that appeals to you and cut it at 6.5 inches out of the Black Vinyl.  You will want to use the eyes, nose and mouth discarding the outside square for another project.  (If you do not own the Expression, you can use the V.1 Cricut or the Create.  Just cut your face at 5.5 inches instead.?)
  8. Re-checking where your center is, place your mouth on your bucket followed by the nose and eyes.  Be sure to rub firmly to adhere the vinyl well.
  9. You now have a very inexpensive, adorable trick or treat bucket for your little ones or not so little ones! I know several high school and college students who would love to get a Pail full of Halloween goodies!
  10. The Yellow Trick or Treat Pail
The Purple Trick or Treat Pail
The Orange Trick or Treat Pail

30 Days of Creativity Challenge - Day 5 - "Beware" Candy Bucket

I am having so much fun everyday creating something else for the 30 Days of Creativity Challenge.  Remember, you can join in at any point during the challenge and that the day that you start is your Day 1.  So I may be on Day 5 but you may just be starting out at Day 1.  Email me with any questions!

Today is my Day 5 and I created a "Beware" Candy Bucket.
So, I was trying to think of a cute gift idea for my children's teachers for this year and decided that a small candy bucket would be super cute!  I used the Cricut Expression along with the Mini Monsters Cricut Cartridge to create this adorable candy bucket.  All I need now is a bag of candy to fill it and it is ready for the Halloween season!  My kids cannot wait to bring one to their teachers.  I have one made, only 6 more to go!

This side ended up being my favorite side.  I just love this little monster!

This little monsters teeth just crack me up.
Just imagine this on a Lost My Tooth page!
How cute would that be?

This is probably one of my most unfovorite sides but Michelle just loved it!  I wished that I had made him in purple or green.
Oh well, maybe next time.

I love how this side turned out.  This little Mummy is just too cute if you ask me.  I love the teal and green combination!

Here is the Beware on the inside.  Make sure you Beware or the little monster may bite your finger!

Here is the other end of the Monster declaring to all Trick Or Treat!

30 Days of Creativity Challenge - Day 3 - Trick or Treat Candy Box

I had so much fun this evening.  I decided to make myself a Trick Or Treat Candy Box to store our candy in for the season.  I used the Cricut Expression and Happy Haunting Cricut Cartridge.  The Box is made out of Chipboard and I used the Zutter Bind-it-all to make the lid.

I am not going to be posting directions to most of my 30 Day of Creativity Challenge as it is very time consuming to write directions.  The whole purpose of this Challenge is to stretch yourself and create something every day.  I hope you will join in on the fun!  For complete details, please be sure to check out the 30 Days of Creativity Challenge Post!

30 Days of Creativity Challenge - Day 2 Halloween Friendship Bracelet

Ok, so my 2nd day of the 30 Days of Creativity Challenge is the Halloween Friendship Bracelet.  I created this pattern when I was in the 7th grade many years ago.  When I was a kid, I would make these hours on end.  They were so much fun to make and give to a friend.  Now day, I love to make these for my children to match their clothes or give as gifts.  So many people stop me when I wear them to ask me where I purchased them when I am wearing them.  I just love being able to tell them it is my own design.

I LOVE COMMENTS!

Here is the New Design Studio Version of the Trick Or Treat Layout as seen in The Chirp!

Here is the Trick Or Treat.cut file for the Newest Version on Cricut Design Studio! This is a very similar layout to the one featured in The Chirp! Please post a comment if you are downloading the file!

Close up of the Frog and trick or treat bag!

I am in the Chirp!

I was so surprised when my friend Sue called me this morning and told me that my project Trick or Treat was featured in The Chirp along with the Directions!
Kimberly aka ~Crafty Kimber had asked me to create a layout along with directions to be put in the Chirp but I had NO idea that it would be this week!
Because of the New Version of Design Studio versus the Previous Version of Design Studio Clash with the file I created, I am creating a layout that looks kind of like this one that will open in the New version of Design Studio too! Here it is! I hope that you all enjoy making this layout! Please Leave a comment if you download and post links to your version of it when you have re-created it! I can't wait to see all the layouts!

Trick Or Treat Smell My Feet Give Me Something Good To Eat!!!

I think that this is a phrase that we all have said over the years. I have taken my children Trick Or Treating and they just love this phrase! Just think of all the picture you could put on this layout. In this layout I used Design Studio and the following Cartridges: Plantin Schoolbook, Paper Doll Dress Up, Doodlecharms and Cuttin' Up. This layout was a lot of fun to design and cut out. The Mummy is 4 different layers of White Cardstock and is very dimensional! I hope that you enjoy my Layouts! Feel free to comment on them!
