Yudu and Fabric Paint Smock for Back To School! A Must See!

Hi, it's Kendra here again and I just wanted you all to know that I had so much fun creating this week!

I was asked by Maggie at Passionately Artistic to create a back to school project for her website and I decided a Paint Smock was the way to go.  I created this smock using a Men's Oxford Button Down  Dress Shirt that I purchased at Goodwill for only $3.50!  I used to make these for my students when I taught preschool many years ago; it was a great way to let the kiddos get messy painting and protect their school clothes at the same time.  With a small amount of time invested you can create a one of a kind Paint Smock for your child too!

This particular Paint Smock fits a large age range of children.

Back To School Personalized Binders

Hi, it's Kendra once again on this beautiful Tuesday here in Sunny South Carolina!

Now that August has arrived it is Back To School time once again here in the South.  With some of the schools around us already back in session and  my own children start school next Monday I want to take the time to share a project that you can make with your children to make going back to school a little more fun.

It still amazes me how time flies by...I am struggling with the reality that my oldest daughter, Abby is a Senior this year and will be graduating from High School...it just does not seem possible.

Where has the time gone?

My project today is actually the project I do with my oldest daughter just before school starts every year.  It is taking plain 1 inch binders with the outside pockets and making them personalized and special just for her.

Here are 2 of the folders we made her last year.  (We are still waiting to get her class schedule for this yeasr before we can make them for this year.)  They were created with the Cricut Expression, The Gypsy and the following cartridges linked to the Gypsy; Cuttin' Up, George and Basic Shapes and Cursive 101.  The neat thing about creating these with your children is that they can be customized to your child's likes.

Here is a look at the side.  Your child can put these folders in their locker and will be able to clearly read the spine with the subject on it.

Bulletin Board at Byrd Elementary!

2 of my best friends and I had a blast creating this wonderful bulletin board for our local elementary.

We used the Cricut Expression, Designers Calendar, Everyday Paper Dolls, Street Signs and George and Basic Shapes.

Back To School Bookmark - McBroom's Ear!

I have had so much fun designing here on Everyday Cricut this week. I cannot believe that I only have one more project left to do. If you have not already had a chance to head over to Everyday Cricut please take time to do so now and be sure to start following them!  Hope to see you over there!

As a child, McBoom's Ear was one of my favorite books. As my children have grown up, it has become one of their favorites too. I am hoping that this project will inspire you to seek out this book for the children in your life too. This Bookmark along with the Book and a fleece blanket would be an excellent gift for any child. Sid Fleischman's McBoom Books are Tall Tales and are so entertaining. Please give them a try and be sure to let me know if you love them as much as my whole family does.

To create this project you will need a Cricut Expression, Design Studio, Country Life and San Serif Cricut Cartridges, a hole punch and Red Ribbon. You will also need various amounts of Cardstock. I used American Craft cardstock.

School Supplies: Gift Bag With Topper

This project was created using the Sesame Street Font and Locker Talk Cricut Cartridges. The Cricut Expression and the 12x24 Mat were also used as well as The Cricut Design Studio. The Cardstocks used were by American Crafts. The adhesive used was a Stapler and Tombow Mono Aqua Liquid Adhesive. (This is by far my favorite adhesive for all of my scrapbooking needs)

First Day Of School Layout

I am so Excited to be a Guest Designer at Everyday Cricut this whole week!  Be sure to head on over and check it out!

It is once again that time of year where school is starting back all over the country. No more lazy days of summer, just the hustle and bustle of a new school year and the all the excitement that comes with it. Who will be in my class? Will I get the Teacher I was wanting? I can't wait to start school for the first time! It is just such an exciting for both parents and children alike.

I will be making adorable projects everyday this week getting all of our children, grandchildren, neices and nephews ready to head back to school!

This layout was created using the Everyday Paper Dolls and the Printing 101 Cricut Cartridges. The Cricut Expression and the 12x24 Mat were also used as well as The Cricut Design Studio. The Cardstocks used were by K&Company, American Crafts and Prism. The adhesive used was the Tombow Mono Aqua Liquid Adhesive. (This is by far my favorite adhesive for all of my scrapbooking needs)

School Memories!

This Monday will start a new school year for my children. They are all kind of excited and I am overjoyed! I love to have them home for the summer but when school starts, I am ready for them to go back to school! This is a layout that I designed today with the start of school and all of it's memories in thought! I designed the layout using Cricut Design Studio. The cartridges used were: Lockertalk, Cuttin' Up and Plantin Schoolbook. I used the Vintage Cardstock by Core'dinations as well as the Core'dinations All In The Family cardstock line. If you haven't tried Core'dinations yet be sure to, it cuts like a dream on the Cricut ! I also used a small black brad, a Signo White Gel Pen and a Black Fineline Sharpie Pen.
