Just Buggy Baby and Big Brother Quilts!

One of my best friends daughters is expecting for the second time. I wanted to make her something very special and decided to make her a baby quilt. I also decided to make the soon to be big brother Sebastian a quilt too. Here are what they ended up looking like. Everyone just loved them. I am working on a baby bib and onsie to match. When I get them finished I will be sure to post them!

What a Junk Store Find!!!

Yo Yo Quilt
Can you believe the deal that I got on this quilt? It was only $25!!! I was driving by a junk shop and it was blowing in the wind. I truly thought that it would be way out of my price range but decided to stop anyway and boy was I glad that I did! The entire quilt is made up of YoYo's. It is just as stunning in person as it is in the photo! Just had to share my good fortune with you!

Hippity Hoppity Quilted Frog Purse

This is the quilted Frog purse that I made! The side that you see has a frog jumping out of the pocket and the opposite side is the same green polka dot with the word froggy quilted all over it in a subtle green. The inside also has a frog jumping out of a pocket and I silk ribbon embroidered 4 flies on the purse. (The frogs had to have something to eat) The purse features 2 large zippered pockets and 9 smaller pockets. 5 on the outside and 6 on the inside. It has handles that are made to be carried over the shoulder but can be adjusted for just about any arm length. All of the fabric used in the purse construction are Batik and quilting fabrics of the highest quality. I make these purses on request for $130 plus S&H.

My Therapy Quilt of Grandpa Mac!

Grandpa McCormick

My Grandfather died when I was pregnant with my third child. It was very traumatic for the whole family and for years I had a hard time even dialing my grandmothers telephone number expecting my grandpa to pick up the phone like he had for years. I created a mini quilt in his honor. It was my therapy where I could think about him and not cry! (I found out really quick if I cried while sewing my fingers did I prick!) The entire piece was hand sewn. If you look closely you will see saying all around my grandpa. The sayings were things he used to tell my sister and my bother and I when we were children.

I'm full of Spunk and Spizarinktum, That was a Gastronomical Appetizer! I'm fair to middlin', Good morning merry sunshine how did you wake to soon do scared away the little stars and drove away the moon. (this was sung off tune as my grandpa couldn't carry a tune in a bucket!!) When Grandpa was a little girl.... (This was only said until my little brother was born, it then went to When Grandpa was a little boy!) Like a bugs Ear, It's dark under the table and When my ship comes in!
