Sock Monkey Blog Hop! Help Me Name My Sweet Monkey Girl! :-)

I was beyond excitied when I was asked to be a part of this months blog hop! As many of you know, I collect all things Sock Monkey! My tallest is an incrediable 4 feet tall! I have quilts and even Christmas Stockings with Sock Monkeys but I have never made an actual sock monkey before. So what could be better but to create a special monkey, the very first sock monkey, for my studio!

When Creativty Knocks is the sponsor for December’s Designer Crafts Blog Connection Hop along with FoxRiver (Orginal Rockford Red Heel), Rit and JudiKins!

So head on over and Create an account on WhenCreativityKnocks.com using the entry code sockmonkey to be entered to win a sock monkey prize valued at over $40.
 Happy Scrappin'
•Sock Monkeys Go BanAnas WCK VideoBook
•One (1) sewn Sock Monkey body ready to be stuffed
•One (1) pair FoxRiver: Oringal Rockford Red Heel Socks
•Button Eyes, needle, floss and stuffing
•Prize package worth over $40.00

27 very talented designers each recieved a package that contained the When Creativity Knocks Sock Monkeys Go BanAnas WCK VideoBook,(Which I must say is AWESOME!) one pair of FoxRiver: Original Rockford Red Heel socks, a JudiKins monkey rubber stamp and any three colors of Rit dye they chose. We were then given a couple of weeks to watch the how-to video and come up with our own Sock Monkeys.

I decided to create a traditional sock monkey with a few extras.  I used the leftover pieces of the sock to create hair for my sweet monkey.  I also sewed on earrings and created her a necklace and bracelet as well as a pillowcawse dress.  I absolutely love how she turned out and cannot wait for you to help me name her!

Supplies:

Sewing Machine with Cream Colored Thread

Sock Monkeys Go BanAnas WCK VideoBook

3 FoxRiver Original Rockford Red Heel Socks

Polyester Fiberfil

Moda Funky Monkey Polka Dot Fabric

Red Grosgrain Ribbon

Red Wire and various seed beads

The Sock Monkey assembly took very little time.  Less than 1 1/2  hours and that was not working on it the whole time.  The dress and jewelry took probably close to that same amount of time.  So for around 3 hours or so I ended up with an adorable Sock Monkey I will treasure for years to come!

When Creativity Knocks will be selling our very first 2012 WCK Sock Monkeys Go BanAnas eCalendar for $1.99 that will include many Sock Monkeys from the Videobook as well as the Blog Hop.
