Have you joined the Cricut Circle yet? I did!
I for one am quite excited about it! I would love to hear your
thoughts on it! Do you think it is worth the asking price? $274.99 if you pay all at once or 79.99 if you pay Quarterly. I can't wait to hear what you have to say!
I joined...I can't stand being left out of getting carts! HEH I hope it will live up to the hype and really SAVE money in the long run so I can buy more carts. Although really I am concerned that PC is spreading itself too thin for the almighty buck but I hope I am very wrong about this.
ReplyDeleteI think they are out of their minds! It's way too expensive for what you get for it. I usually pay $30 for regular cartridges on sale at AC Moore and Michaels so this is equal to 9 regular carts for me. Way too rich for my blood.
ReplyDeleteI too think its way too expensive. I won't pay more than $40 for a cartridge, and to see that price and not even know what cartridges they will be, is too much of a chance to take. Congrats to you though for taking that chance. Keep us posted on if its actually worth it!
ReplyDeleteI am really on the fence about joining. In theory it sounds great and the potential is there for them to make this a really good thing for Cricut users. If it turns out to not be worth the hefty price ta I think PC will have a lot of upset customers.
ReplyDeleteI was a sucker, I joined! paid for the whole year!
ReplyDeleteway to expensive for me!
ReplyDeleteI didn't join, too expensive for me. The carts MAY be ok but I have no desire to have a charm or bracelet or whatever they were talking about and I don't order anything from Cricut.com. It would not be a good use of my HARD EARNED money.
ReplyDeleteI think it's disgraceful - the majority of us spend a fortune in a year on Cricut products - and then they go and release carts that we are being blackmailed into having to join an 'exclusive' club to be able to get them.
ReplyDeleteI love my Cricut, I teach classes with Cricut, but, boy, do they get me angry sometimes.....
There, I feel better now, I won't be joining - what is the exchange rate into Aussie dollars anyway, I could probably pay off my mortgage LOL.....
Good luck to those that have joined - I bet the carts are gorgeous, makes me even more angry.....
I'm still wondering if we will be able to get the 23 new Lite carts down here in Oz.... Probably not
More anger....
SCAL is looking very inviting - I have resisted so far.....
That's what I think.....
I also think they are out of their minds. I also think that anyone who joins is out of their mind. Provocraft are trying to create elitism. What happened to equality? It is unbelievable and we should all demonstrate until we all have equal access and choice in our purchases. The beauty of scrapbooking is that anyone of any budget or ability can join in. They have lost touch with the average scrapbooker. Shame on them.
ReplyDeleteThere is absolutely no way that I'm going to pay that much money for the privilege to buy something--that's insane. I guess some folks have plenty of money to burn, but I'm not falling for this marketing gimmick. It makes me want to stop purchasing Provo Craft products.
ReplyDeleteI too am on the fence. I'm struggling w/ the cost of what I would get and will I be statisfied vs I don't want to be left out. I have that good little angel on one shoulder telling me "NO, save your money" and on the other shoulder that little devil saying "YES, do it do it do it. gggrrrr...
ReplyDeleteI think it's too expensive! I was disappointed. I spend too much already of cartridges and supplies when I probably shouldn't. Gotta watch the budget these days..you never if you'll have a job tomorrow the way things go!
ReplyDeleteTotally crazy.... I belong to a bunch of collectors clubs and they are normally like $30 or $40 a year and you get bunches of stuff!!! I think I should have been able to join with points... reward those who have supported them! I'd be willing to pay 450 points.. that means that I bought 5 carts. That is plenty of support to get into a club. Already have lots of carts... so I'm thinking I will not buy any more after this stunt by the company. They are TOTALLY UNREALISTIC!!!!! And their stuff is way over priced.
ReplyDeleteI went from loving my cricut to hating it after this crazy stunt by Provocraft. They are so greedy!!! The club, with the little they are offering, should be $40 a year. But the carts are even those lite ones too!!! Doubt I'll buy another Provocraft item after this. They are too over priced and don't care about us crafters.
ReplyDeleteWay too expensive. It's like buying a pig in a poke - suppose you don't like or have no real use the cart they give you? And, you have no choice. Also, I don't order from Cricut.com (too expensive) and the carts on Cricut Rewards are all carts that most of us probably already have, so what's the big deal? I also don't like the idea that Provo Craft blackmails us by releasing "exclusive" carts. In my opinion, anyone who joins this rip-off is a sucker. Make The Cut is looking more appealing every day.
ReplyDeleteI joined and can't wait to see what it has to offer. I know it's a bit pricey but I like the idea of exclusive cartridges!
ReplyDeleteOK I got an invitation to join but am still not too sure on a few things. Hope someone can help me out:
ReplyDeleteThe first cartridge-French manor is free with the kit are the other 3 free, what about the one's after that-or is that what you're REALLY paying $80 for?
Thinking about taking the quarterly pay plan as I wont be able to attend the events.
Already own SCAL, was hoping that this was more of a downloadable cartridge club with an on-line library (so I don't have to find space to store everything).
What do you think?
Way, way, to expensive. It sounded good until I clicked on the link and saw the cost. I won't even buy a cartridge at full price, and it isn't necessary. Four cartridges that I have no idea of what is or if I could use them them plus events I won't be able to attend. I work for my $$$. But to miss the charm bracelet, I don't know, that could put me over the edge (LOL). They better watch out, too many new products that do similar things are starting to show up!!
ReplyDeleteAs I was reading it I got real excited. I knew that you would have to pay something but not that much. I was floored, could not bellieve that they asked that much. I get my cart. on sale and buy as many as I can. But to pay this price is way to much. I for one will not be joining this club.
ReplyDeleteToo expensive! I buy carts at Big Lots ($30) on clearance or sale for less than $40. Crafting is my HOBBY. Between the "lite" carts - less features - set price - no price matching and now this circle PC are pricing me out. I don't spend $300 a yr on PC carts. I was really hoped for tools and the Handyman but 10 different houses? moving into a new home? where is the "handyman", garage or the workshop? A dust pan/no broom, no lawnmower or tractor. I would have loved a caution sign or "caution - work in progress" or "looking good". I really feel let down by a company that should be happy that in this financial times that so many buy their products. Make them more affordable - not price out/exclude some customers. I think I will just make due with what I already have.
ReplyDeletei'm disappointed in provocraft for this move. it's doubtful to me that it'll be worth the cost. let me know in a year what you think, kendra.
ReplyDeletewww.scrappykeels.blogspot.com
I honestly have to say that I love, love, love my Cricut!!! But I can do without if I have to join a club for that price. I, too, only purchase my Cricut cartridges on sale. And with WalMart's exclusive of $39.99 cartridges, I don't think anyone will be spending over that amount to purchase any cartridges in the future. Really, does anyone realize how expensive it has gotten to scrapbook these days? I really think someone will get smart and come up with another compatible machine to do almost that same thing....at a much cheaper price.
ReplyDeleteI too received an invite for this - - -I had a feeling it would be this expensive after the survey that came out a few months ago about it. The only way I could afford it would be the quarterly payments but that makes it $300!!! I bought my expression when it first came out and got it on sale for $350!?!?!?! This club is almost the same price as my cricut - no way am I going to spend this amount of money again when you can buy MTC or SCAL for less than $70 and create your own images. You'll have to tell me if it is worth every penny of that $275 spent on it.
ReplyDeleteToo expensive for me. Especially not being able to see the cartridges before you buy. All the other stuff they say goes with it or not worth the price you have to pay. I have a number of Reward Points already but can not find anything to buy with them so why should I want more.
ReplyDeleteDitto on all those who say "WAY TO MUCH MONEY" In these times of people struggling for money, this makes no sense to me what so ever.
ReplyDeleteIs Cricut needing money????? Or are they scared the other new cutting devices are going to be better....hmmmmm!!! ecraft and sizzix!!!!!!
No way am I about to spend that kind of money!!!!
Outrageous price... a pig in a poke for sure... disappointing, but then what did we expect... maybe someone should show these comments to a PC rep....
ReplyDeleteHave a great day !!
I resisted at first, then I jumped in with both feet! I haven't bought carts in a year, so I'm due some new ones. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI love everything cricut, but it is getting so expensive. I haven't been able to buy a new cart since April, and now we have 32 new ones.
ReplyDeleteThe most I pay for a full cart is $40. There's just no way I can join the Circle.Hope it works for all of you.
I haven't joined as I think it's too expensive! I'm on a fixed income and it was hard enough to save the money to buy my Expression! In fact I wouldn't have bought it, but my boyfriend saw the info-mercial and said he was going to save up and get it for me for my birthday! What a guy huh!
ReplyDeleteSo almost $300 to belong to a club? I don't think so. I do have another question, is that a one time only payment, or is that the cost per year? If it's per year, I know they're out of their minds!
I don't have a huge amount of cartridges, and I'm being very careful about which ones I buy now. So I don't know that I'd even want the ones that will be only for club members....Well, I guess you know what my opinion now. I do love your blog! Thanks for asking, and thanks for sharing!
I, too, received the invite to join and was very excited until I saw the price. I am uneasy purchasing carts unless I know what I am getting. $40 is pretty much the max and $25 or so is better. Perhaps the price will come down if people don't jump right in.
ReplyDeleteI justified it this way- $22 bucks a month. 20 work days a month-$1.10 per day. That's less than I spend on my Starbucks on the way to work each day-and I'll enjoy this a lot more. I'm really looking forward to it and hope Provocraft doesn't let us down.
ReplyDeleteI was totally INSULTED when I received the invitation to join!!!
ReplyDeleteI own 80+ Cartridges, plus all the stuff for the Cricut and a Gypsy. I would have thought I paid enough in supplies to "QUALIFY" for a free membership!
I wrote a letter to the Marketing Director for Cricut at Provocraft, complaining about this outrageous fee!! Then I went online and purchased Sure Cuts Alot! PROVOCRAFT LOST me forever as a customer!!!
By the way, Nothing is ever free from Provocraft!! If you use your reward points, the postage for the item is always more than you would pay at the post office. I'm sure the "free cartridges" affiliated with the "club" will cost you a lot in shipping!!!
I purchased ALL my cartridges on ebay or online. I have NOT paid more than $25 for any single one!!!
In fact most of them cost less than $20!! I accumulated close to 4500 reward points which I consider worthless!!! I have all the carts offered and I certainly don't need another machine!!
If Provocraft REALLY valued its customers, it would stop "nickle & diming" us and give back to its customers!! They need to put out a special "promotional" cartridge several times a year with a lower price as a token of their appreciation to its loyal customers?!!
ANYONE who is considering joining this club "to be able" to purchase "exclusive" cartridges, needs to rethink how "twisted" this marketing stragedy is! Ultimately you will be paying a fee to be "allowed" to purchase
FROM THEM!
PLEASE READ ALL THE POSTS BEFORE MAKING A DECISION TO JOIN. IT'S TIME TO LET PROVOCRAFT KNOW THAT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!
I'm sorry for the tone of this message. I'm just angry and frustrated with Provocraft!!!
Especially in this economy; SHAME ON PROVOCRAFT!!!

Too expensive, and I am not going to give in even though I can afford it. I choose not to spend my money like a fool. Don't get suckered in. You will probably be able to buy the carts on Ebay in year.

ReplyDeleteI also was very excited to get the invite. But was soon very disappointed to see the cost. Getting a free cartridge that I don't know if I would even want and a few charms and events I know I will never attend was not worth the exorbitant cost. I think ProCraft is out of touch with their main customers exceptionally in these times,
ReplyDeleteI am not going to join, $280 is too much money for me to committ to right now, even the quarterly option is more than I am willing to spend right now. If I joined Cricut Circle, I wouldn't have any money left over to buy other scrappy supplies. Hoping that over time they will present an option without the exclusive cartridges, for much less money.
ReplyDeleteI have joined and paid the full year price so that I could get the points. So far things are going a little slow, but they have extended the date for the end of the year. I only wish I could have gone to CHA to the Gala and gotten the Imagine. What lucky people that were able to get them. Congrats to them. I look forward to see what else they have in store for us.
ReplyDeleteI, too, received an invite and was excited to be asked to join, until I read the price for joining. Really extreme. Way, way too much money. I don't need the club carts that much and won't miss what I do not have. Most of the carts that I buy cost no more than $40.00 and the majority around $25.00. I wait for sales and when the carts have been around for awhile they become lower. I, too, feel Provo Craft is taking advantage of us Cricuteers. It is s shame they need to humiliate us into "thinking" we need to join to keep up with the Jones'.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe PC, we pay all this money for the machines, and the gypsy, and now PC want us to pay just as much for a special group. Then this fee only covers one year instead of a lifetime. Come on PC get real and show a little appreciation for your customers.
ReplyDeleteI think it is very pricy I don't know anyone who thinks it is reasonable
